Biography:
Started fishing a long time ago in Southeastern Minnesota’s Mississippi River (from Red Wing to Trempeleau) on family vacations, staying at the great Bass Camp on Lock 5A.
Mark credits his uncle and godfather Matthew Wisniewski for showing him the passion in fishing. In fact, fished my first willow cat on a wingdam at 5.
Mark's modern walleye skills were developed fishing the Mississippi and Illinois River, as well as Lake Winnebago. "Komo", as his friends call him, fished his first walleye tournament in 2005 on the Illinois River as part of the Illinois Walleye Trail. He has since fished in the IWT, FLW League, FLW Tour, MWC, Mack 100 and local tournaments on Lake Winnebago.
Mark keeps busy by fishing tournaments, promoting key sponsors, taking time with children (especially Matt the 5YO) on the joys of fishing. He has written fishing articles and occassionally appears on radio. He is active in his community as a member of the YMCA Indian Guides, being the defacto "go to" fishing guy.
His Illinois River seminar is a well rounded presenation, giving keen insight to what it takes to catch Sauger on this major river, offering the casual weekend angler an opportunity to "fish with the big boys."
Mark considers the Illinois River, Mississippi River and Lake Winnebago, his "home" waters. His favorite techniques are jigging for sauger, trolling spinner rigs and cranks for suspended walleye, slip bobbering reefs, and working the shallow walleye bite with cranks in the cane. He has started a new found appreciation of "leadcore".
Mark likes to think of himself as a student of the game. Focusing on enhancing current techniques as well as developing new techniques.
